Courage (50th post)

As you approach the tough decisions that will challenge you, recognize these truths about courage:

1. Courage begins with an inward battle. Courage isn't an absence of fear. It's doing what you are afraid to do.

2. Courage is making things right, not just smoothing them over. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

3. Your life expands in proportion to your courage. Roman historian Tacitus said, "The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise." But courage opens doors, and that's one of its most wonderful benefits.

EQUIP

"Do not fear" appears in the Bible 360 times. Yes, sherene. Do not fear!

As I approach the future, I'm actually excited about it. But there are still fear in me. It will always be there. It serves as an irremovable thorn in me. A reminder for me to remain in God.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

A thoughtful 50th post. ^^

Half curse

Awaken by alarm clock at 9 am. However, my body couldn't be lifted up from the bed. I lied down with eyes open big for one hour. Then I sat at the edge of the bed, hugging my bolster for half an hour or so and still under the curse of a spell name sluggishness. Then I prayed, as usual. It's a good start to start off a day. Yea, prayer worked. The spell got 'cast out'. So here am I blogging. Anyone catch the point? It means, I have not bathed, brushed teeth, make bed and breakfast. It's 11.30 am right now. XD

Lotsa unfinished work to be completed! Sien...

All I want is a chill out on saturday.

Question: Should I make my blog public?

O blooded ( mourning over dairy product & grains & whole meal product )

Half an hour talk on the phone with my sista and she mentioned about O blood type diet. We are O blooded family. :p I google-ed it and here is the result. Mixed feeling for me.

Peter D'Adamo writes that
Peter J. D'Adamo ND
[t]he essence of the blood type connection rests in these facts:
  • Your blood type - O, A, B, AB - is a powerful genetic fingerprint that identifies you as surely as your DNA.
  • When you use the individualized characteristics of your blood type as a guidepost for eating and living, you will be healthier, you will naturally reach your ideal weight, and you will slow the process of aging.
  • Your blood type is a more reliable measure of your identity than race, culture, or geography. It is a genetic blueprint for who you are, a guide to how you can live most healthfully.

  • The key to the significance of blood type can be found in the story of human evolution: Type O is the oldest; Type A evolved with agrarian society; Type B emerged as humans migrated north into colder, harsher territories; and Type AB was a thoroughly modern adaptation, a result of the intermingling of disparate groups. This evolutionary story relates directly to the dietary needs of each blood type today. cool huh? O blooded ppl are ancient ppl.

Fundamental to this theory is the idea that lectins, proteins found in many foods of high nutritional value, have glue-like properties that affect your blood. "Simply put," writes D'Adamo, "when you eat a food containing protein lectins that are incompatible with your blood type antigen, the lectins target an organ or bodily system...and begin to agglutinate blood cells in that area". Each of the four blood types is described in terms of an antigen. Type O is the simplest, comprised of a basic sugar called fucose. The Type A antigen consists of fucose and N-acetyl-galactosamine; Type B, of fucose and D-galactosamine; and Type AB, of fucose, N-galactosamine and D-galactosamine. Each of these antigens presents a "unique shape," and lectins fitting that shape can interact. Food lectins interact with and agglutinate cells of one blood type at left; but not with those of another type at right, because its cells possess a different shape.

Too technical! Tak faham! Erm, will I get sued for copying and pasting?

You jump, I jump.

One thing that is similar in all the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ is that they left everything behind and follow him without any questions being asked. They followed Christ in complete obedient. Moving only in his direction. Do as he said. No question. No but.

Like the scene in titanic where Rose said to Jack, "You jump, I jump." Well, that is a love story. Your heart belongs to your lover. =.='''

Same goes to us who wants to be Jesus' disciples. Our response should be, you jump, I jump.

Wherever he may lead, I will follow.

You jump, I jump.

Still waiting

They are waiting.
Till they were too tired and have fallen asleep.

Sound like Peter,James and John during the transfiguration?

As I crawl all the way to complete ACCA.
The road seems rough. Aiks!
I do not want to be caught complaining, ranting and raving.
I do not want to be like them.
Stop crawling, that is for kiddo.
I'm a big girl now.
So run, jump and kick!

It's time to get serious in studies.
I failed 2 and passed 2.
Going to inform parents about it in a few hours time.
What would they say?
I have indeed disappoint them. Haiz.
I've always expected scolding from them whenever result are bad.
Instead they offer words of encouragement.
Papa, mami, mei, ah jas, you all are the best!
God, I pray that You'll truly bless them.

Amen!

rueful valentine

Read this ... ...

Valentine's Day is mentioned ruefully by Ophelia in Hamlet (1600-1601):

To-morrow is Saint Valentine's day,
All in the morning betime,
And I a maid at your window,
To be your Valentine.
Then up he rose, and donn'd his clothes,
And dupp'd the chamber-door;
Let in the maid, that out a maid
Never departed more.

(William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act IV, Scene 5)

Old song

Something happened 5 hours ago.

Storm after storm.
Thunder after thunder.
Plague after plague.
Disease after disease.

Sounds pessimistic.

All the above roll into my doorstep in my late teenage life.
I believe more will roll in in my twenties and so on.
God do not promise us that we will feel His presence all the time but He promised that He'll be there all the time.

Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.

Hebrews 13:5

I'm not writing the old song again. Go to last year blog in the month of January to read it.

In the case of you not being able to understand and sincerely want to find out what happen, please email me. ;)

Movie - The Climb

Date: 7th February 2009 ( Saturday )
Time: 7pm onwards
Venue: Nilai Gospel Chapel
Event: Movie Screening-The Climb (A not too old and not too new movie)

Synopsis: “The Climb” is a story of two solo rock climbers, Michael Harris (Ned Vaughn) and Derrick Williams (Jason George), who are brought together when they perform a daring rescue. The man they save is the son of retail mogul Mack Leonard (Dabney Coleman) who rewards Michael and Derrick by sponsoring a trip to their dream climb at Mount Chicanagua. The two highly esteemed climbers approach the sport very differently. Michael is a safety-conscious plodder driven by the beauty of creation. His goal is to reach the summit, and take whatever precautions necessary. Derrick is a flamboyant self-promoter bent by anger. He's a risk taker and will reach his dream at any cost. A clash of pride, styles, and character put both of their lives on the line.

Ok, I'm not a sales representative of this movie. =.=
Besides that, when I googled this movie, there are more than one 'The Climb' movie.
So misleading!

Findings: Of all the scenes in this movie. there are one scene that speak a lot of me. The part where both of the climber reached the top of the mount. The white guy inserts a cross at the peak of the mountain. Then, he takes off his wedding ring and put it at the cross. This white guy loves his wife so much. His wife died in an accident. He could even remember the exact day of him living without his wife around when he is being asked by the black guy. The black guy said to him that he should let healing takes place in his heart. I cannot remembered the exact text line. It's something like this.

Applications: For me leh, it is about my studies. How come I fail? There are a few possibility that I can think off. Maybe I'm not well prepared. Or things happened for a reason. Well, I'm hurt deeply that is for sure. 2 times failing! Can you imagine that? It ruins my testimony for Christ and conficence. It caused me my relationship with God. All go down to the drain. Life have to move on no matter what. I must leave this baggage behind because it slower down my speed to move forward. How do I do it? By putting everything on the cross. Every hurt and disappointment, bring it to my Lord Jesus Christ. Let him carries them for me because he handles things better.

Changes: Result will be out in one week time. My confidence of getting all pass is 50:50. I do not know what to expect. An all P word would bring a huge changes in my life and direction. At the same time, one F word would change things too. I want to be healed and move on. Nevertheless , Lord, may Your will be done!

Hwei, why la we blog at the same time?
And why la we choose to blog and not studying?
Because we both woke up late today.
Because we both had a power packed weekend.

Cut fat

A blessed CNY dear readers! Chap Goh Mei hasn't passed yet.

My findings about recent CNY was, I do not feel hungry for even one second!
How blessed am I to have food whether rain or shine! Yes, I am truly bless!
And that's bad for my weight!
I'm not going to be ambitious to cut fat till the scale shows 40 kg because that would be unhealthy.
Plus..... fat is in my gen. =.=
No worry, my self-esteem is not affected. I've accepted this fact long time ago.
I do not want to be overweight.
I'm not overweight at the moment. =)
But very close to! O.o

How to cut fat?
With knife? How can? Unless I'm dead and you cut me to cut away the fat layer.
Please be civilized my friends. Knife means operation! =.=
LOL

Nah..... not going to do that.

Then how?

Exercise lo...

What?
Jog and swim.
Badminton/squash or anything when I'm invited.
Captain ball.

When?
Jog every morning since I do not have time in the evening. That would means sleep early and wake up early.
Jog/swim during weekend.
Captain ball every Monday.

Who?
Friends, mostly cfers currently.
However, no many people will wake up at 7am daily to jog right?

It's easy to plan but to hard to execute it. Grrr....
It requires high disciplines and patient.
Food wise...
So far, I will only fall for chocolate.
The rest doesn't matters much. I think.

God, I want to stay healthy for your service. Help me to do so!

Dear readers, please keep an eye on me! Thank you!
